A Pre-K Horsemanship Program at R&M Stables – Spring 2026

Ages: 4–5 years
Class Length: 45 minutes (once per week)
Location: R&M Stables | 1060 Goshentown Road | Hendersonville, TN
Cost: $360 per session
Adult Participation Required: Each child must attend with a parent or grandparent.

 About the Program

Ponies & Patterns is a thoughtfully designed horsemanship program created specifically for pre-K learners. Through purposeful play, children build confidence, coordination, and early horsemanship skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Each class blends

  • Groundwork: Grooming, leading, and tacking skills
  • Riding Time: Basic riding instruction using patterns, colors, numbers, and movement

Our arena is set up as a perceptual motor classroom, allowing students to learn through hands-on exploration and guided participation alongside a trusted adult.

Program focus areas include:

  • Sensory exploration and processing
  • Listening and following multi-step directions
  • Group participation and social development
  • Foundational horsemanship from the ground up

 Spring Session Dates

  • Tuesdays – March 3, 10, 17, & 24

Available Class Times:

  • Morning Session: 10:00 – 11:00 AM
  • Afternoon Session: 3:30 – 4:30 PM

(Instructional time is 45 minutes within each session window.)
Spots are limited to maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.

🗓 Weekly Learning Breakdown

Week 1 – Grooming & Basics

  • Introduction to grooming tools (shapes, colors, sizes)
  • Riding focus: correct seat, hands, and foot feel

Week 2 – Leading & Patterns

  • Reinforcement of grooming skills
  • Learn how to safely and effectively lead a pony
  • Riding focus: shapes, colors, numbers, and sequenced riding patterns

Week 3 – Tacking Up & Transitions

  • Review grooming and leading
  • Learn how to saddle and bridle
  • Practice mounting and dismounting skills

Week 4 – Putting It All Together

  • Comprehensive review of all skills
  • Independent riding with emphasis on starting, stopping, and steering

  • Tuition is $360 per child for the full session
  • Enrollment is for the entire 4-week session only
  • No drop-ins or partial sessions
  • Adult participation is required for each class
