A New Pre-K Program at R&M Stables – Fall 2025

Ages: 4–5 years
Duration: 45-minute sessions, once per week
Location: R&M Stables | 1060 Goshentown Road | Hendersonville, TN
Cost: $360 per 4-week session
Adult Participation Required: Each child must be accompanied by a parent or grandparent.


🌟 About the Program

Ponies & Patterns is a unique horsemanship program designed especially for pre-K students. Rooted in the principles of purposeful play, this hands-on experience blends learning with movement, sensory engagement, and confidence building.

Each session includes:

  • Groundwork: Learn grooming, leading, and tacking up.
  • Riding Time: Mounted instruction focused on basic control, spatial awareness, and fun learning patterns.

The arena is transformed into a perceptual motor classroom, encouraging:

  • Sensory processing
  • Listening and group participation
  • Physical coordination
  • Foundational horsemanship skills

📅 Fall 2025 Session Dates

Tuesdays only – choose your session:

  • Session 1: September 9 – 30 
  • Session 2: October 14 – November 4
  • Session 3: November 11 – December 2

Time slots available:
9:00-9:45 a.m. or 10:00-10:45 a.m.


🗓 Weekly Breakdown

Week 1 – Grooming & Basics

  • Learn to identify grooming tools (shapes, colors, sizes)
  • Riding focus: seat, hands, and foot feel

Week 2 – Leading & Patterns

  • Review grooming
  • Learn safe leading techniques
  • Riding focus: shapes, colors, numbers, and simple patterns

Week 3 – Tacking Up & Transitions

  • Review grooming and leading
  • Learn how to saddle and bridle
  • Practice mounting and dismounting

Week 4 – Putting It All Together

  • Comprehensive review
  • Independent riding: start, stop, and steer
